Maybe there’s some truth to the legend that cats have 9 lives! According to this Daily Knowledge article, cats can survive falls from over 40,000 feet. Not that we recommend your cat give the odds a try, but that’s a pretty incredible feat.

Cats’ taste buds don’t taste sweetness

According to this Journal of Nutrition article, domestic cats are unable to taste sweetness. To be honest, we’re a little jealous—not being able to taste sweet treats would be a gift from above!

The world’s richest cat is worth $13 million

We swear we’re not making this story up! A wealthy Italian woman Maria Assunta left her entire fortune to her beloved cat, Tommaso, when she passed away. The cat was a stray, until the kind lady took her in—talk about a true rags to riches story!

The average cat can jump 5 times its height

Five times its height?! That’s nuts. We’re especially obsessed with watching this Japanese cat that can jump over 4 feet—seriously check out these videos.

The first cat in space was French, named Félicette

Man isn’t the only living species to make it to outer space! This French cat, named Félicette, gets the honors of being the first space cat. We’re still waiting for cats to step foot (or paw) on the moon, however!
