National Pet Month is a time to appreciate the animals who share our lives, not just for the happiness they bring, but for the deep connection we build with them over time. For many of us, our pets are family. They depend on us, and we do everything we can to give them the best life possible.
Still, caring for a pet, especially one with chronic health issues or changing needs, can come with questions and challenges. Itβs not always clear what the right decision is, or how to move forward when something isnβt working. Thatβs where support can make a big difference.
This May, we're not only celebrating our pets, we're also recognizing the people who help us care for them with more confidence and clarity: Holistic Pet Health Coaches. These are the folks who help fill the gaps, guiding pet parents through nutrition questions, helping interpret lab results, and offering calm, practical advice when things feel overwhelming.
They bring together experience, education, and compassion and they remind us that we donβt have to figure everything out alone.
A Community Rooted in Love
Holistic Pet Health Coaches come from many different backgrounds. Some are former vet techs, pet trainers, nutritionists, others have worked in massage therapy or energy healing. Many were once pet parents seeking answers themselves, and through that journey, found their way to helping others.
Now, theyβre part of a growing network of over 50 Certified Holistic Pet Health Coaches, all working to support pets and the people who love them. Each coach brings a unique perspective, but they all share the same goal: to help pets feel better and help pet parents feel supported in the process.
Their support isnβt about quick fixes or one-size-fits-all answers. Itβs about listening, guiding, and helping families make informed choices that align with their petβs needs and their own values.Β They create food and supplement plans, walk pet parents through lab work, and help support chronic or age-related conditions with a holistic approach that considers the whole animalβnot just the symptoms.
Spotlight on Coaches Making a Difference
As we celebrate National Pet Month, weβre taking time to spotlight three coaches from our community who are making a meaningful impact in the lives of pets and their people. Their stories reflect what this work is all about: thoughtful support, ongoing care, and a real love for helping others.
Michael Daly: Practical Support for Complex Health Needs

Michael brings over 20 years of experience as a veterinary assistantβincluding time working with Dr. Ruth Robertsβand holds certifications in canine and equine massage. He focuses on helping senior pets and those with complex health issues through diet, and supportive care planning.
βMichaelβs lab work analysis was far more detailed than what Iβve received from vets. He helped me break it down and choose a couple of manageable next steps. When my dog had a health scare, he was always available to help us stay on track.β β Heather
βAfter a pancreatitis and kidney disease diagnosis, Michael created a custom diet and care plan that balanced both. Itβs been four months, and our dog is still doing well.β β Kelly C.

Why Pet Parents Need a Partner Like a Coach
Caring for a pet with chronic conditions or age-related changes can feel overwhelmingβespecially when conventional advice doesnβt fully address the whole picture. Holistic Pet Health Coaches help bridge the gap between everyday care and medical treatment by:
-
Explaining lab results in plain language
-
Offering support in between veterinary visits
-
Recommending food and supplement strategies based on the petβs individual needs
-
Helping pet parents feel less alone and more confident in their decisions
A coach doesnβt replace your veterinarian, they walk alongside you to help make sense of the journey and bring together a variety of healing tools in a way that works for you and your pet.
